White House Allocates $100M Women's Health Initiative

On November 13, 2023, President Biden announced the first-ever White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research. This groundbreaking effort is led by First Lady Jill Biden and the White House Gender Policy Council. The mission of this initiative is to address the historical underrepresentation of women in health research and fundamentally change how we approach and fund women’s health research. This is wonderful news as in 2019, our founder, lobbied Congress for funds for breast and ovarian cancer prevention clinical trials. We called this the "Women's Health Initiative." Congresswomen Debbie Wasserman Shultz sponsored out report language in the House budget and it was actually included. This led to the "Prevent Program" at NCI/NIH. This will allow much needed research funds to improve gynecological cancer outcomes as well as women's heart health. #WomensHealthInitiative #BreastCancer
